Enrollment Considerations
Here are some things to think about before you enroll:
  • Your health. How do you use health care services? Do you or your eligible dependents visit the doctor often or need continuing care for a chronic condition? Do you just need routine and preventive care? Look at how your plan options cover the expenses you need and use most.
  • Your budget. Check the plan overviews for your premium costs. Compare the premium cost of the options available to you. In general, plans with higher premiums pay more of your covered expenses than plans with lower premiums.
  • Your providers. Are your doctors, hospitals and other care providers in Aetna’s network? Check the online provider directory to find out.
  • Other coverage. If you have or are eligible for other coverage (such as that available through a spouse’s plan), compare that plan to your Retiree Health Access options.
  • Medicare. If you are eligible for Medicare, you may be able to enroll in a Retiree Health Access plan that includes Medicare A and B coverage. Be sure to compare the costs of your options. Also, consider flexibility and simplicity.

Finally, talk with your family members. Make sure they review the information on this site so they can help with your decision.
