For the health plan that’s best for you, consider:
- Your health. Do you see a doctor often? Do you have a chronic condition and require ongoing care or visit the doctor for routine or preventive care reasons?
- Your providers. Are your doctors, hospitals and other care providers in Aetna’s network? Check the online provider directory to find out.
- Your budget. How much is the plan’s monthly premium? How much is the deductible? Typically, plans with higher premiums pay more of your covered expenses than plans with lower premiums. Look at how the plan you’re considering covers the expenses you would incur.
- Your prescription drugs. How much do you spend on prescription drugs? Check to see which plan covers the drugs you’re taking.
- Other coverage. If you’re eligible for other coverage, compare that plan’s benefits to your RHA plan.
- Medicare. If you’re eligible for Medicare, you may be able to enroll in a Retiree Health Access plan that includes Medicare Parts A and B coverage. Check costs and consider how flexible the plan is for your needs.
